And now the news:

---------- ERT starts on HotBird 3

ERT has started on HotBird 3, 12,284 H in clear PAL. ERT is a Greek
satellite which combines all of the Greek terrestrial channels (ET 1, ET
3 and NET - New Hellenic Television, which until recently was ET 2). All
three can be seen on this frequency at any time, although the channel
sometimes goes under its common name, ERT (Hellenic Radio Television).
ERT was supposed to have started on this frequency today, on the 24th,
but it actually started yesterday evening, a day early. It is scheduled
to leave its frequency on Eutelsat II-F2 on October 31st. Rumours
indicate that PIK (the Cypriot-Greek television channel) will start
there after the departure of ERT, although it has been hinted that PIK
will eventually broadcast from Sirius 2, which will be launched on
November 7th... At the same time as ERT moved to HotBird 3, NET started
broadcasting in the clear in the MultiChoice/Canal Plus Hellas package
on HotBird 2.
