And now the news:

---------- TAC - THE ADULT CHANNEL
TAC - The Adult Channel, has started testing on Astra 1D, 10,832 H (tp
57). This is because, from 1st October, TAC will start using Sky (OB)
cards to encrypt its programming (like Playboy TV). TAC will issue all
subscribers with new Sky cards, and Sky subscribers will be given the
chance to subscribe. TAC will probably cease transmissions on
transponder 54 after Zee TV on October 1st. TAC will still remain a
separate subscription service from BSkyB.

---------- FASHION TV
As quickly as it started on Eutelsat HotBird 2, Fashion TV has left
again. It ceased analogue transmissions this morning. It is again only
available digitally. Fashion TV is a French channel showing continuous
pictures of models walking up and down catwalks!

---------- CANAL CLASICO
Shortly after vacating its space on Hispasat 1A/1B, Canal Clasico seems
to be back again. The test card, which was used to show Canal Clasico's
presence, temporarily had its logotype and name removed, but both are
back on the test card today. All analogue channels on these satellites
are scheduled to leave soon. TVC - Televisio de Catalunya will leave on
October 1st.

---------- INTELSAT 803
Intelsat 803 was successfully launched last night, very early in fact. I
tuned into Telecom 2C, 12,606 V, at around 01.05 and found that the
launch was already in its third stage (the separation of the satellite
from the top part of the launch vehicle). Intelsat 803 will eventually
be placed at 21,5 degrees east, but will initially be placed at 27,5
degrees to replace Intelsat 601. Intelsat 601 will then temporarily
replaced Intelsat 603 (at 34,5 degrees east), which will replace the
malfunctioning Intelsat 605 (at 24,5 degrees east).
