As upon request, after my message about the deteriorating signals of the
Turksat 1C, yesterday and today were most of the channels good
receivable, even those on the Eurobeam. It must have been the weather.

Partly on transponder 15, 3.979 GHz, Rc, and transponder 18, 4.033 GHz,
Lc, the Qatari Open tennis tournament is transmitted. Sound carrier in
both cases on 6.60 MHz.

The SATCO-DX information service reports the latest location from the
Arabsat 2B on 30.8 East (03/01/97) and the Arabsat 1C on 31.7 East. Test
transmissions from the Arabsat 2B could not yet be observed on this
position.

JSC Al Gezeerah, Quatar, on transponder 1, 12.521 GHz, H, starts since
the 1st of January one hour earlier at 16:20 CET.

The Dutch famous skating event "Elfstedentocht" (Tour of the eleven
cities) was shown live on transponder 26, 11.078 GHz, V. Unfortunately 
SiS (Sound in Sync), but for these cases we kept our sync inserters
ready, isn't it ?

Txpr 111X-A on 10.968 GHz, V, was used for a sport feed for Israel
Channel 1, yesterday evening.

AMOS 1, 4 West, SATCO-DX: http://www.satcodx.com/amos1.html

Israel 1 and 3 are still part-time transmitted over the resp.
transponder 1L, 10.968 GHz, V, and 1U, 11.015 GHz, V. Both transponder
carry the TV sound on 6.60 MHz, and an empty carrier on 7.20 MHz.
Transponder 4L, 11.468 GHz, V, was used for a feed this afternoon.
Transponder 2U, 11.106 GHz, V, is still used for data transmission, and
was actually never turned down during the absence of the TV channels.
