TAMAS IS MIXING UP THINGS
Tamas (who is apparently me) is mixing up things and creating
misunderstandings beacuse of his imperfect English knowledge. ;-)
A news item has been published in an earlier TS-NEWS with the
following text in it:
BUDAPEST, Hungary, 97/01/13 (TS) -- As of December 1997, the Hungarian
satellite channel, Duna TV will move to Eutelsat Hot Bird 4 (13E) from
its present transponder on Eutelsat II F3 (16E), and TV2 will join in as
well. The Hungarian controlling body, the ORTT has announced the tender
for two new nation wide commercial channels, which will share the present
transmitters of the Hungarian state television's second channel, the TV2.
Therefore during the summer TV2 will move to the skies and will broadcast
from Eutelsat's Hot Bird position. [...]
1) The first misunderstanding has been created by the following part
of the first sentence: "...and TV2 will join in as well". This is an
incomplete sentence, beacuse it could read as TV2 will join into the Duna
TV or the two channels will join forces. That is however not the case.
What I meant is that Duna Tv will move between satellites and TV2 will
move to satellite, so both channels will move.
2) The other misleading sentence sounds like this: "...two new nation
wide commercial channels, which will share the present transmitters of
the Hungarian state television's second channel...". This is a partialy
correct information, but also incomplete. Those transmitters will be
shared between the two new networks (one of the transmitters will be used
by one network and the other by the other network), but new transmitters
on presently unused frequencies will start as well which will provide the
networks to reach the desired areas. This makes the two networks equal,
beacuse according to the original plans one of the commercal networks
would have been using all of the present transmitters of TV2 and the
other would have been started on a completly new set of transmitters and
frequencies. In this case the first commercial network would have been
reaching a bigger area.

Tamas (aki tulajdonkeppen en vagyok) egy kis kavarodast okoz es
felreertesekre ad okot, mely hianyos angol tudasanak koszonheto. ;-)
Egy korabbi TS-NEWS-ban az alabbi szoveggel jelent meg egy hir:

1) Az elso felreertes az elso mondat alabbi resze miatt keletkezett:
"...and TV2 will join in as well". Ez egy befejezetlen mondat es lehet
ugy is ertelmezni, hogy a TV2 a Duna Tv-hez csatlakozik, esetleg a ket
csatorna egyesul. De nem ez a helyzet. Ezt en ugy ertettem, hogy a Duna
Tv muholdat valt es a TV2 muholdra kerul, vagyis mind a ket csatorna
koltozik.
2) A masik felrevezeto mondat igy hangzott: "...two new nation
wide commercial channels, which will share the present transmitters of
the Hungarian state television's second channel...". Ez egy reszben
helytallo informacio, de szinten nem teljes. Azok az adoberendezesek
ugyan tenyleg megosztasra kerulnek a ket uj halozat kozott (az egyik adot
az egyik halozat, a masikat a masik hasznalja), de uj adoberendezesek is
indulnak eddig meg nem hasznalt frekvenciakon, mely elosegiti a
halozatokat a kivant teruletek elereseben. Ez a ket halozatot egyenlove
teszi, az eredeti tervek szerint ugyanis az egyik kereskedelmi halozat a
TV2 jelenlegi teljes adohalozatat hasznalta volna es a masik teljesen uj
adoberendezeseken es frekvenciakon indult volna. Ebben az esetben az elso
halozat sokkal nagyobb teruletet ert volna el.

Elnezest kerek az okozott felreertesekert es igerem, hogy a jovoben
korultekintobb leszek, s feltehetoen angol tudasom is fejlodik.
