If this file is found in the startup directory, it will be used instead
of the standard map. This offers a number of customizing opportunities. See
Hints and Suggestions.
The map must be in a Windows Bitmap format (from Paintbrush, for example). It
should have the north pole/international dateline at the top left, and south
pole, international dateline at the bottom right, with the equator/greenwich
meridian in the center. It should be in an "equirectangular"
projection.
The larger the original bitmap, the better it will look on the screen.
Note: the Setup:Colors option for oceans and continents may not work
correctly with user bitmaps.
