New Chief For NBC Europe
SAN FRANCISCO, California, USA, 97/05/20 (Shoptalk) -- Allan Horlick, who
has spent the last 10 years heading-up WRC/Channel 4 (Washington DC), has
been named president and managing director of NBC Europe. Horlick said
Friday that his Europe assignment was "the only job in the country that
could have lured me away from Channel 4."

In his new position, Horlick will oversee day-to-day operations,
development, sales, programming and marketing for CNBC Europe and NBC
Europe, which reach about 63 million households. In making the
announcement, NBC News president Andrew Lack called Horlick "a first-rate
station manager (who) successfully molded WRC into one of the most
well-regarded television news stations in the country." Horlick will take
up residence in London this summer and will be replaced at Channel 4 by
Linda Sullivan, who has held the same job at NBC-owned WJAR in Providence.
Sullivan will begin her new job June 2. In London, Horlick replaces Roger
Ogden, who is headed to Denver as president of Gannett-owned KUSA.
