Upcoming Launches
  TOKYO, Japan, 96/09/07 (TS) -- There are three satellite launches planned
for the next week. Here are details of the launches and launch broadcast
coverage:

  GE Americom's GE-1 is due to launch during a window of 5:49pm to 7:38pm
EDT Sunday (2149 to 2338 UTC), aboard an Atlas IIA from Cape Canaveral. Live
launch coverage is scheduled to be on Spacenet 2, transponder 18, with
launch commentary beginning at 5:15 p.m. ET.  Given the importance of this
launch to a number of customers, there may well be multiple feeds showing
up, including on Satcom K2. 

  EchoStar II is due to launch during a window of 7:47pm to 9:39pm EDT
Tuesday (2347 to 0139 UTC), September 10th aboard an Arianespace 42P
launcher from Kourou, French Guiana. Coverage on Galaxy 9/21, with an
originating feed on Telecom II-B at 5 degrees West.

  Global positioning satellite GPS-27 is due to be launched during a window
of 4:49am to 5:20am EDT on Thursday (0849 to 0920 UTC), September 12th from
Cape Canaveral aboard a McDonnell Douglas Delta II launcher.  Live coverage
is uncertain at this point.
