This is a summary of last week's updates to the service.

* Turksat 1B is back on air
* Arabsat 2B has replaced Arabsat 1C

--- EUROPE:
- Turksat 1C at 42E:
Eko TV on 11,588 V, MPEG-2
- Turksat 1B at 31E:
Turksat 1B has switched on at 31,0 East
Kent TV on Turksat 1B: 10,961 H, MPEG-2
- Kopernikus 2 at 28.5E:
Cable Plus has ceased in PAL on 11,475 H
Cable Plus and Prima TV are now on 11,475 H in MPEG-2
HBO Polska on 12,712 H, MPEG-2, PowerVu
- Kopernikus 3 at 23.5E:
Nickelodeon Germany and VH-1 Germany have left 11,625 H
- Astra 1E at 19.2E:
Sogecable is now also on 11,973 V, new channels
- Eutelsat II f3 at 16E:
Algerian TV on has moved from 11,678 H (super beam)
to 11,095 V (wide beam)
- Hot Bird 2 at 13E:
AB Sat promo 11,766 V (PAL) changed from super to wide beam
- Eutelsat II f2 at 10E:
RTP Internacional has left 11,658 V,
replaced by a test card
Voice of America (in Serbian) is back on 11,163 H,
but only some day per week.
- Telecom 2C at 3E:
Digital TV package on 12,564 V, ETSI-34
- Telecom 2D at 5W:
A TV has left 11,638 GHz, but is still on Amos 1: 11,388 H
Test cards have started on all Telecom 2D tps in
the 11,450-11,700 GHz range, SECAM, seems to have
a narrower coverage area than Telecom 2B.
- TDF 2 at 18.8W:
The radio channel Hector has left TDF 2
- TDRS 4 at 41W:
All DMX channels on TDRS 4 have moved to TDRS 6 at 47 West

- Intelsat 703 at 57E:
Six new Star TV channels have started in Orbit Network,
causing several French channels to leave.
For a current line-up, see the Orbit chart on Intelsat 703.
- Intelsat 705 at 18W:
Orbit News, C-SPAN, CNN International, The Discovery Channel,
Cine Cinefil, and Monte Carlo TMC have all left the Orbit
package, and 11,056 H is no longer used.
- Arabsat 1C/2B at 31E:
Arabsat 2B replaced Arabsat 1C at 31,0 East on 24 Jan,
but the test transmission are mostly very weak!
Even RTM 1 is weak...
Oman TV has left Arabsat 1C: 4,062 L
Jordan TV left Arabsat 1C: 4,144 L on 22 Jan.
RTM 1 has moved from Arabsat 1C: 4,007 R to Arabsat 2B: 3,918 R
- Arabsat 2A at 26E:
Jordan TV started on 12,578 V on 20 Jan.

--- NEW DIGITAL LAYOUT:
In order to present better looking and standardized charts even
for the digital packages, a new layout is now under development,
which rather soon will be used for all digital packages.
The new layout has so far been implemented on these packages:
Multichoice Africa on PAS 4 at 68.5E: C band
DirecTV Latin American on Galaxy 3R at 95W
DF 1 on Astra 1D/1E/1F at 19.2E
More packages will follow soon...
Here are some highlights for the new digital layout:
* Yellow colour has so far been used on all clear digital channels,
but no specific colour was used for encrypted digital channels.
On the new layout, an orange colour is used to individually mark
encrypted channels, while the yellow one will mark clear channels.
* To better see the logotypes, they will be as big as for the
analog channels.
* The internal numbers used in each package will now be listed
on the digital charts, instead of their frequencies.
To get the frequencies, please see the analog/main charts.
(The frequencies will be listed even on the digital
charts as well, but at a later stage.)
* The latest update time for the package is available on the
digital chart, so you easier can find out when something
in the package was updated.
* All links to digital packages should now open up in a
separate window, if your browser can handle that feature.
This is already in effect on almost all digital charts.
* Even more features will be added to the new digital layouts
very soon, like PIDs for video and audio.
Any comments on these layout changes are very welcome!
