---------- Quantum not gone after all!
Well, it seemed Quantum's departure from Astra 1A and HotBird 1 was
only brief. It was back again last night. Perhaps they have plans to
leave sometime in May...
---------- Arabsat Digital on HotBird 4
Good news for all Arabic-speakers in Europe! Arabsat Digital has begun
a package on HotBird 4 with six Arabic language channels, which are all
free-to-air. Here is the info (PIDs decimal):
12.654 H ARABSAT DIGITAL SR 27500 FEC 3/4 FTA
512/650 Sharjah TV
513/660 Bahrain TV
514/670 Channel 1 (Saudi Arabia)
515/680 Kuwait TV
516/690 Jordan Satellite Channel
517/700 Jamahirya Satellite Channel
In addition to this, there is a digital data stream being transmitted on
12.731 H, no television included.
