THE HEADLINES IN THIS 97.02.22 REPORT:

- GALS 1/2
- Mauretania on A2B
- Bit & Pieces

GALS 1/2, 36 East, http://www.satcodx.com/gals1.html
--------
After being without signal in the early morning of 22/02: NTV+ "Mir
Kino" on 11.919 GHz, Rc, returned in the afternoon therefore very
strong, however still completely disguised in Nagravision.

ARABSAT 2B, 30.5 East, http://www.satcodx.com./a2b.html
----------
A good old friend from Arabsat 1C, of which the most viewers remember
only the name, came back to the Arab TV world: Mauretania TV showed up
with regular transmissions on Arabsat 2B, transponder 9, 3.876 GHz, Rc,
with subcarriers on 6.60 MHz, for TV sound in Arabic, and a Radio
transmission on 7.02 MHz, in a, for me, yet undefined language.

The picture quality is acceptable, similar to that of the improved
Maroccan transmissions; the sound quality on 6.60 MHz is poor, for the
radio station on 7.02 quite good.

The on-screen logo, in the lower right, consists of a yellow star
between the legs of an, also yellow, Arabic halfmoon, on a round blue
base, with two green palm trees covering the left and right moon parts.
The yellow moon and star are part of the Mauretanian national flag.
