THE HEADLINES IN THIS REPORT:

- PAS 3R activities
- Turksat 1C beams & txpr

Not too much news today, most of the available txpr capacity has been
used for SNG reporting the re-election of Mr. William Clinton as
President of the USA.

EUTELSAT II-F2, 10 East
On txpr 37, 11.575 GHz, H, appeared Worldnet again, honouring the US
election.
Most probably a one-time event.

INTELSAT 707, 1 West & AMOS 1, 4 West
Israeli channels one and two have been txm all night long with US
election reports.

PAS 3R, 43 West
This satellite, most of the time invisible for viewers in the Middle
East, was firing signals on various txpr last night. The reception
quality of picture and sound in Cairo was superb. It was an unexpected
pleasure to see this bird active with analogue signals on 4 txpr at the
same time. It's a shame that this satellite is underused in  KU- as well
as C-Band towards the African and European continents.

12.517 GHz, H, NTSC for RAI Italy. Italian on 6.60 and a test tone on
7.20 MHz.
12.574 GHz, V, NTSC for WNET, CBS, NOS. English and Dutch on 6.60 MHz.
12.605 GHz, V, NTSC for BBC. English on 6.20 and 6.80 MHz.
12.574 GHz, V, NTSC for TVE Cadena Int. Spanish on 6.20 and 6.80 MHz.

TURKSAT 1C, 42 East
Due to the various difficulties in reception of the latest Turksat,
reported by viewers in the Middle East and Europa I would like to draw
your attention to the recent up-loaded beam charts on the SATCO-DX
pages. Take a look, it clears up a lot of questions about the variety in
quality of the txpr.

Reception quality depends mainly on:
- Euro beam (V) and Turkey beam (H) assignment.
- The shared use of a txpr (lower and upper half) e.g. txpr 1,2,8,9,10
and 11.
- The transmitted signal power, depending on the broadcasters demands.

Here the latest txpr status and reception report from Cairo:
(The mentioned freqencies are txpr middle frequencies, actual
frequencies are shifted a little up or down, due to recent re-shuffling
