FLASH * GREEN LIGHT FOR COMMERCIAL TV

     The National Radio and Television Commission (ORTT) in Hungary has
announced the winners of the recent commercial television franchise. One
of the two 'lucky' companies is the MTM-SBS consortium and the other is
the Hungarian RTL (a company by CLT). Both new nation-wide terrestrial
channels would be able to start transmissions in October if everything
goes well. The right to broadcast are theirs now for 10 years.

     MTM-SBS promises a real entertaining channel, while the Hungarian
RTL was attractive for the ORTT beacuse of their news and current affairs
programmes. Both companies have to pay about 4 million dollars for using
the frequiencies.

ROVIDEN * ZOLD UT A KERESKEDELMI TEVENEK

     Az Orszagos Radio es Televizio Testulet (ORTT) bejelentette a
kereskedelmi televizios palyazat ket nyerteset. Az egyik "szerencses"
tarsasag az MTM-SBS konzorcium, mig a masik a magyar RTL (a luxemburgi
CLT cege). Mind a ket orszagos, foldi terjesztesu csatorna oktobertol
kezdhet el sugarozni, ha minden rendben megy. A sugarzas joga most mar 10
evig az ovek.

     Az MTM-SBS egy igazi szorakoztato csatornat iger, mig a magyar RTL
hir- es tajekoztato musorai miatt nyerte el az ORTT szimpatiajat. Az
MTM-SBS 8, a magyar RTL 9 milliard forintot fizet a frekvenciak
hasznalataert.
