COLOMBIAN NETWORKS UPGRADE TO DIGICIPHER II
The colombian networks Cadena Uno, Canal A, Tele Pacifico, Tele Caribe
and Senal Colombia, broadcasting in Digicipher, would be switching to
Digicipher II the next month, August 1st, 1997 according to Inravision
officials in Colombia. Inravision is the regulatory state organization
in charge of all Radio and TV in Colombia and producing public ( state)
TV to areas where off the air reception by conventional antennas was
impossible. The original project started 2 years ago, when Inravision
leased one transponder in Intelsat 709 and uplinked all regional signals
plus Cadena Uno and Canal A (private networks)using Digicipher digital
video compression by General Instrument. At the present time regional
networks are covering all the country, Caribbean, Florida, Centrao
America and 80% of South American countries,and every colombian region
is able to see TV from all other regions . The equipment used by
Inravision was the Digicipher DSR-2200 and the unit replacing this
receiver is the DSR-4200 both made by General Instrument.

Satellite Intelsat 709at 50,0 West.
Transponder 12U Freq: 3,840 R (Right hand circular) L-Band frequency:
1310 Mhz.
Receiver: DSR-2200
Changing August 1st, 1997 to DSR-4200. All freqs remain the same.

Las Cadenas Colombianas Cadena Uno, Canal A, Telepacifico, Telecaribe Y
Senal Colmbia cambiaran definitivamente a Digicipher II el proximo dia
Agosrto 1 de 1007 segun oficiales de Inravision en Bogota. Inravision
que es la entidad que regula la Radio y TV colombianas ideo el proyecto
de que las cadenas colombianas regionales fueran faciles de recibir en
todas las areas del pais donde la recepcion de TV mediante el uso de
antenas convencionales, era algo imposible. El proyecto, nacio hace unos
2 anos, mas o menos se llevo a cabo cuando Inraviison rento un
transponder en Intelsat 709 y mediante la tecnologia de compresion
digital de video Digicipher I, llevo la senal a todo el pais. En el
momento actual, las senales mencionadas pueden recibirse en todo el
pais, y cada region de Colombia, puede ver la TV de otras regiones
mediante el satelite, cosa que fue imposible hasta hace 2 anos atras.
Tambien las senales son perfectamente visibles en el Caribe, America
Central y un 80% de America del Sur gracias a la tecnologia del
satelite. El equipo usado por Inravision fue el DSR-2200 que sera
reemplazado por el DSR-4200 y las frecuencias permanecen las mismas
hasta este momento.

Frecuencia: 3,840 R ( circular mano derecha) Transponder 12U. Freq.
Banda L 1310 Mhz.
Receptor a usar DSR-4200 de General Instruments.
