Dr.Dish:
No chance with Asiasat I, but II will do it in the c-band. A 2.8m dish will
do the job nicely. Most of the services are digital ( with exception of the
Egytian Satellite Channel, a shopping channel and some chinese programming)
on this bird. This means you will need a suitable receiver. If you want the
digital European Bouquet with german, french and italian channels, then you
have a wide choice of receivers: Grundig DTR1100, Nokia 9500S V. 1.63,
Nokia-d box 1.7x, Mascom/Nokia 9200S, SK888, Pace 400 and 500. If you choose
Pace, please make shure this receiver is not imported from South Africa,
because other software is used (with parental guidance) and this could be a
problem.
If you want all the chinese channels and the European Bouquet, then you
should buy one of the above mentioned Nokia-receivers.
For the equipment you could call AV-COMM PTY at 61-2-9949 7417 or have a
look at http://www.avcomm.com.au
