Re: Hotbird 4 Launch+txp layout




Hi Doc,
Ariane 4 launches the new Hotbird on the end of this month. Can we
expect some direct feed on c-band and is anything know about the
txp-layout and the use of it?

Dr.Dish:
Flight 106 of a Ariane will carry HOTBIRD 4 into orbit on Febr.28 at
00:38 utc from Kourou. Directbroadcasting to Europe, Middle-East and
Africa as usual on 4 Ghz via both TELECOMīs (5 and 8 degr.west) in
analogue.
Hotbird 4 offers 20 txp. from 10.7 to 10.95 and 12.5 to 12.75 GHz and
takes position on 13 degree east. One transponder will make use of the
Skyplex-system, the Eutelsat multiplex facicility. A steerable beam will
carry Canal+ to the IOR-region. Furthermore TPS will use this satellite.
